Where did everybody go?

Driving on one of my regular routes this morning there was something very strange. A journey that usually takes me 25 minutes only took 15, because there were absolutely no traffic snarl ups.

How could that happen? There are 7 usual snarl up points on the way, including schools, but there were no problems at any of them. It was the same route, at the same time, but just no traffic. Rather perplexing.

Had everybody decided to sleep in? Was I driving towards some disaster I wasn’t aware of because I was listening to podcasts, not the radio? Was everyone stuck behind a tractor? Was every child in the area bunking off? Why can it never happen to you when you have to be somewhere urgently?
